Anna Baltzer is an award-winning lecturer, author, and organizer for freedom, justice, and self-determination for the Palestinian people. She worked as Director of Organizing & Advocacy at the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) from 2010 to 2019 and has appeared on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Kelly File, TEDx, and at the Oxford Union, and been quoted in the New York Times, Associated Press, Washington Post, LA Times, Guardian, Al Jazeera, Business Insider, Australian, Huffington Post, Jewish Daily Forward, Ha’aretz, Jerusalem Post, and beyond.
Baltzer has lectured at more than 500 universities, churches, parliaments, and policy institutes on five continents with her presentation and film, "Life in Occupied Palestine: Eyewitness Stories & Photos" and book Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories, which she authored as a volunteer with the International Women's Peace Service in the West Bank.
Baltzer has contributed to various other books on the subject, including Shifting Sands: Jewish Women Confront the Israeli Occupation, Letters from Palestine: Palestinians Speak Out about Their Lives, Their Country, and the Power of Nonviolence, Breakthrough: Transforming Fear into Compassion — A New Perspective on the Israel-Palestine Conflict, and Beyond Tribal Loyalties: Personal Stories of Jewish Peace Activists.
In 2009, Baltzer received the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee's Annual Rachel Corrie Peace & Justice Award and a Certificate of Commendation from the Governor of Wisconsin for her commitment to justice in the Holy Land. In 2011, she received the Inspiration for Hope Award from the American Friends Service Committee, along with author and Pulitzer Prize Winner Alice Walker and others.
At USCPR, Baltzer specialized in organizing boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) campaigns targeting institutions complicit in Israel's violations of Palestinian human rights and international law, as well as connecting the dots between oppression of marginalized communities from the U.S. to Palestine, and beyond.
